60th reunion minutes


MINUTES – May 17, 2016


A meeting was held on May 17, 2016 at the Easton Area Community Center.  Class members in attendance were:  Lenny Buscemi, Judy Kahler Campbell, Gino DiLorenzo, Lois Rodler DiLorenzo, Pat Fisher, Janet Transue Herr, Kay Schulte Niedzwiecki, Sandy Moser Zemgulis, John Affa, Sadie Mazzarese Fraccica, and Clara Worrich Morgan.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Pizza was served.

Minutes of the April 19, 2016 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s report:  The total expense for the 60th reunion, including returned monies, was $9,503.38.  After printing, postage and 50/50 payment the total in the account is $2,936,24.  The Fundraiser account was closed out and the remaining balance of $38.77 was transferred to the general account.  John Affa questioned the cost of the mailings and Len Buscemi replied that it was covered by donations from the class of ’56.

Election of officers was held at the Reunion.  Kay Schulte Niedzwiecki made a motion to retain the current officers, seconded by Janet Transue Herr.  The officers remain:  Len Buscemi, Chairperson, Woody Frankenfield, Treasurer, and Judy Kahler Campbell, Secretary.

Comments on the Reunion:  Many thanks to Janet Transue Herr for decorating the Gift Baskets; several commented that the fish course was served too early and was cold; Kay Schulte Niedzwiecki mailed out all the pre-purchased video discs and those not purchasing a disc at the event can contact Kay to purchase one; thanks to Judy Kahler Campbell for the cake; booklets were mailed to all non-attendees with the last newsletter; all comments were positive that it was a successful 60th reunion.

Janet Transue Herr made a motion to contribute $1,000 to the Easton Area Community Center, seconded by Sadie Mazzarese Fraccica; the motion passed unanimously. All of the 60th reunion meetings were held at EACC. EACC provided coffee and light refreshments at many of the meetings. Judy Kahler Campbell presented the check to Bonnie Buncher, Program Director and later Brooke Mitman, Director of EACC, thanked the committee and took photos of the group.

John Affa made a motion to return to Holy Family for our 65th reunion and Kay Schulte Niedzwiecki seconded the motion.  Janet Transue Herr suggested we retain the Charlie Williams Band for the 65th reunion.

The class picnic will be held June 26, 2016 at Hacketts Park, followed by a breakfast in the fall.

Committee members will be notified of the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30p.m.
