Louis R. Medellin, Sr.
louis R. Medellin, sr. 74, of Hellertown, formerly of Williams Township, passed caway Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in VNA of St. Luke’s Hospice House.
Born: december 31, 1938 in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Ignacio and Isabel Guerterez Medellin.
Personal: His wife of 50 years, the former Darlene D. reihl, died May 27, 2010. louis retired from the Express-Times where he was employed for over 40 years. He was a 1956 graduate of Easton High School. Louis was passionate about spending time with his grandchildren and ebjoyed attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed bowling, playing quoits and had been a champion fast pitch softball player.
Membership: He was a member of Order of Fleas, inc., Citizens Hose Company and the former West Easton Athletic Association.
Surviors: Two daughters, dawn M. Culver and her husband Buck, and LuAnn Shive and her husband Dennis, all of Wilson Borough; a daughter-in-law, Sheri Medellin, of Belfast, PA; a brother Joseph, of Easton; two sisters, Maria Andreas, of Upper Nazareth Township and isabel Reign, of Moore Township; seven grandchildren, Nicole Killey and her husband Robby, Dennis Shive, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany, Ryan and Ashley Medellin, DeAnna and Rachel Shive, and Zachery Medellin, three great-grandchildren, Gianna, Sofia and Leigha; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Sreven on May 16, 2011, and Louis, Jr. on June 8, 2008, three brothers, Ignacio, Jr., Carlos and Frank, and a sister, Carmen Huxel.
