Robert W. Garrison
Robert Wayne “Pappy” Garrison, 70, died at his home in des Moines, Iowa, on January 21, 2009.
Born: Bob was born in Easton.
Personal: He retired from the Navy after serving 20 years. He loved to say that he had lived all over the world. He had also retired from the Postal service after working 20 years. His most recent job was driving for Enterprise Car Rental.
Bob enjoyed traveling, going to the movies, reading and talking to people, and could talk on any subject.
Membership: Bob was an active member of Staves United Methodist Church.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Theresa: two daughters, Theresa Calkins, Carmen and her husband Kurt Putzier; a son, Michael and wife Maria Garrison; grandchildren, amanda and Clifford Calkins, Sarah and Christopher Garrison and Kaylee “LJ” Putzier; brother, John his wife Gloria Garrison of Alpha, NJ; and his sister Marylou her husband Jim Tutko of Easton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G. Wayne and Winifred Garrison and his son David A. Zepeda.
Services: Will be held at 10 a.m. saturday, January 24, 2009 at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church, E. 28th and Madison, des Moines, Iowa. visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., des Moines, Iowa.
