I first encountered Kathy"s graciousness at Wolf Junior High when she congratulated me on winning the boy's division American Legion Award. Kathy was the runner-up in the girls' division.  A difference in class schedules limited our conversations to a smile and a passing "hi" in the hallways. It was a casual, kind smile, a warm and friendly smile, an everpresent smile that, you know, brightens your day. I am sure she extended similar complements to Dorothy Palmer, who won the girl's recognition. Kathy had a special elegance about her. She refined that elegance over the years. It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart to learn of her passing.

Fortunately for all of us Kathy came to Forks Township Elementary School in 5th grade.  Can't imagine how a shy New Yorker could fit in with we Forks Farmers.  She did not talk like a New Yorker.  Although I don't remember her riding a tractor or working the soil, she was comfortable with a softball bat on her shoulders.  From Forks through high school Kathy brought both good looks and grades.  Unfortunately we did not have that in common.   Kathy, rest in peace and we will miss you.    George

Kathy was a lovely gal and we both went to Forks Township Grade School.  We remained

friends for many years.  She along with other class mates use to come down to my

parents farm and help pick strawberries. I spent lots of time at Kathy's home as a

young person and she was so friendly and special. I always will remember how she took such

good care of her younger brother who had a disability.  It was a different time and we had so

much fun even though we had lots of responsibilities. I do not remember who said it at

our graduation but I never fogot it.  He said 'OUR LIVES WILL FLY BY" but we should do our

best in every way to enjoy our time. HERE WE ARE! Time does fly.
