Catherine E. 'Tootie' Garrity FORKS TOWNSHIP Catherine E. "Tootie" Garrity, 79, of Forks Township, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at her home. Born June 8, 1938, in Alpha, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Charles Phillips and Catherine (Stasak) Phillips Ehly. Her husband of 17 years, John C. Garrity Sr., died Dec. 23, 1991. Tootie was last employed part-time at NORWESCAP, Washington, NJ. Years ago, she worked for Tung-Sol Electric, Washington, NJ, and various other area companies involved in home health care , real estate and electronics. Tootie graduated from Easton High School in 1956. She was a volunteer for Retired Senior Volunteer Service. Tootie was an active member of New Creation United Church of Christ, a member and volunteer at Lifestyle campus Forks Township, a life member of Wilson Democratic Association and a member of Concordia Maennerchor and its ladies shuffleboard league. Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Savercool and her husband, Barry, of Easton, and Wendy Dietz and her husband, John, of Pen Argyl; two sons, Ricky Starner and his wife, Kim, of Bath, and Dale Starner and his wife, Carol, of Bethlehem; a brother, Charles Phillips and his wife, Gloria, of Kunkletown; a sister, Sharon Ayers and her husband, Arthur, of Palmer Township; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in New Creation U.C.C., 3730 Nicholas St., Palmer Township. Call Monday 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
